I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan Department of Communication and Media. I graduated with a PhD in communication from the University of Washington in 2023. My research focuses on how the affordances of social and mobile media intersect with cultural and relational norms to influence how people engage with information and each other in mediated spaces, especially in understudied social and political contexts. My recent publications have specifically focused on the use of more private spaces on social media, including how people evaluate the credibility of information within these spaces. My work has been published in leading journals like Social Media+Society, Communication Monographs, Journal of Computer-mediated Communication, Political Communication, and Digital Journalism
