I am currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Communication at the University of Washington. My research focuses on the social impact of communication technologies, particularly the use of mobile phones and social media. My current and past research projects have focused on how misinformation is shared, corrected, and negotiated within interpersonal relationships, particularly in private mediated spaces like WhatsApp groups. I primarily adopt qualitative methods and draw on scholarship from various disciplines and sub-disciplines, including Computer-mediated Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Human–computer Interaction, and Digital Anthropology. My work has been published in Social Media+Society, Journal of Computer-mediated Communication, International Journal of Communication, and Journal of Social and Personal Relationships.
